Where should your 360° videos live? This guide reviews four families of VR video playback — VR headsets, desktop players, hosting platforms, and web players you embed yourself — comparing immersion, protocol support, and embedding, with a decision table.
ZWPlayer v3.3.2 is here! New bumper ad monetization, preview and music playback modes let one player adapt to video, audio, and card-preview scenarios, subtitle search now spans across videos, and DASH embedded subtitles are auto pre-downloaded — making search, translation, and export fully available. Fully backward compatible.
MPDGrab is a free CLI downloader for DASH streams. Given an .mpd manifest URL it mirrors every representation, audio track and segment into a self-contained folder, rewriting the manifest for fully offline playback. Win/Mac/Linux.
ZWScan scans a local media folder and auto-generates a ZWMAP playlist JSON — grouping videos by subdirectory, auto-matching subtitles, chapters, thumbnails, and audio tracks. One binary, no runtime. Win/Mac/Linux.
ZWPlayer v3.3.1 is here! New VR/360° panoramic video playback with auto-detection of 2:1 aspect-ratio panoramas and a real-time Yaw/Pitch/FOV view panel; multi-track audio switching for multi-language dubs, audio description, and director's commentary; TTS turns subtitle text directly into a voice track; control bar UI streamlined. Fully backward compatible.
ZWCorsProxy is a local CORS reverse proxy. Prefix any cross-origin video URL with your localhost and play it in the browser — mp4 transparent passthrough, m3u8 auto-rewrite. Win/Mac/Linux.
A systematic guide to the M3U8/HLS format and its evolution from TS to LL-HLS and CMAF, with a deep dive into zwplayer's three signature capabilities—subtitle pre-download/search/translate, live chase, and adaptive bitrate (ABR)—to help you choose the right M3U8 online player.
Still pasting raw video links? ZWPlayer's link sharing lets you first add subtitles, chapters, and interactive annotations to a video, then share it via a link or QR code. Recipients open a fully-featured smart player with subtitle search and translation, chapter navigation, A-B loop, picture-in-picture, and 4x volume. Non-destructive overlay processing keeps the original video intact—lightweight, editable sharing with real depth and interactivity.
ZWServe is a zero-config local CORS web server. A single binary that serves files over HTTP/HTTPS with permissive CORS and no caching. Win/Mac/Linux.
M3U8Grab is a free CLI downloader for HLS/m3u8 streams. It grabs all bitrates, audio, subtitles, and keys for fully offline playback. Win/Mac/Linux.
ZWPlayer v3.3.0 is officially released! Introducing the ZWMAP unified data protocol, interactive annotation, anti-recording watermark, multi-track subtitle management with real-time translation, and playlists. WordPress plugin and Vue 2/3 components are synchronously updated with visual online editors for code-free interactive video publishing.
An in-depth look at common audio formats supported by web browsers (MP3, AAC, WAV, OGG, FLAC, Opus), their development history, and how ZWPlayer flawlessly supports them all.
StitchImage is a browser-based image stitching tool that supports horizontal/vertical stitching, gap control, background color, output scaling, and more. Images are never uploaded to any server — just open and use.
